A continuous fiber made from natural basalt rock: tensile strength 3,500–3,800 MPa, long-term service temperature −260 to 700 °C, Class A non-combustible. Wufang Zhigong supplies basalt fiber materials to specification, with samples for verification and bulk supply.
Basalt is one of the most widespread volcanic rocks in the Earth's crust (about 30%), with abundant reserves and stable composition. Basalt fiber is melt-drawn from natural rock at around 1,450 °C, with no pollution in production, and the fiber is naturally flame-retardant and weather-resistant.
Alongside carbon fiber and aramid, it is one of the four high-performance fibers of China's national 863 Program and is listed as a key strategic new material in the 14th Five-Year Plan; China accounts for over 60% of global basalt fiber capacity (2024 public data).
